The reproduction process does not cease with the birth of the child. Enduring memories insure reproduction via the recordings of childhood pertaining to what it means to be a person. Via the incarnation of myths, collusions, unexamined assumptions, emotional response patterns, adult analysis procedures, etc., the child becomes a faithful copy of the parent. The reproduction process continues on through childhood and parenthood--- causing the child to become a reincarnation of the parent, so that reproduction is nearly complete. Even so, there are mutations. Even though biological reproduction can be fully traced to the parent, there are many possible mutations in the further reproductive process after birth. The child may enter into relationships with others than the parent, and so new possibilities arise. There may, however, be restrictions which prevent the child from entering into significant relationships with those who are other than like the parent. Thus via en-loco-parentis processes a faithful reproduction process becomes more likely. The child becomes the beneficiary of the positive values offered by the parent, and the victim of that which victimized the parent. So long as a parent seeks to maintain full control of the child, the child will not be free to choose wisely through adult consideration of full spectrum alternatives and probabilities. Only through wise decisions and actions can a child become a mature adult. The parent may facilitate the making of wise decisions by helping the child gain a mutual understanding of the processes involving parent-adult-child. To be unaware of the processes which envelop self leads one to be the victim of them. Through mutual understanding of the processes within which they participate, parents and children may create new freedoms to preserve what is helpful, while enabling new possibilities to come to pass. Through a process of mutual evaluation there may be a mutual understanding of what will constitute helpful behavior. The chief role of the parent is to set the child free to be helpful.
