TABOO POLITICAL TOPICS

Laura Nader reluctantly agreed to serve on a top level national advisory board regarding USA energy considerations back in about 1985. She had no experience dealing with energy issues. She was an anthropologist! She watched the group discussions as an anthropologist would watch a tribe of isolated natives. She noticed that there were two words which were never spoken one right after the other. The two words were "SOLAR" and "ENERGY". As an anthropologist she understood that such a systematic avoidance of such a Logical-Key-Word-Combination must mean that there was a firm taboo against speaking that combination of two words. We need to understand in retrospect why that firm taboo was so faithfully honored at that time.

We also need to understand why it is that in the early 2000's it is taboo to address the following topics in most political discussions; in secular political settings, in religious settings, in professional meetings, in academic classes, etc. The following point only-in-general-terms to the nature of the taboo topics; but they should be sufficiently suggestive to any people who are ready, willing and able to consider the taboo topics, and to ask why the taboos are honored. Why are the demonstrations of the following rarely talked about as qualifications for election to high office? The following pertain equally well to an Isolated-Individual and to a Community As-a-Whole.
