The statements in this essay are offered as descriptive, rather than prescriptive or proscriptive statements. 2. To the extent that we as members of any formal or informal: family, class, friendship-group, marriage, intimate-group, community, organization, business, profession, religion, institution, city, province, state, nation, association, etc. --- treat statements such as these statements as being prescriptive and/or proscriptive statements --- we thereby fail to demonstrate personal and communal integrations and integrities. 3. To the extent that we fail or refuse to honor statements such as these as accurately descriptive of our own lives together as the Crew-of-Spaceship-Earth --- we thereby behave as: domineering, coercive, violent, manipulative, dishonest, arrogant, self-righteous, contentious, collusive, addictive, codependent, militaristic, and otherwise disintegrative-people-and- communities. 4. Our-essential-virtues which are the foundations of our personal-and-communal integrations-and-integrities --- include our-inter-dependent combinations-of-mutually- complementary-virtues such as: cooperation, gentleness, honesty, humility, forgiveness, tolerance, non-violence, peacemaking, personal-and-communal-inter- dependence, conflict-resolution, generosity, hospitality, civility, balance, mutuality, distributive-justice, and many more well-integrated-mutually-complementary-virtues. 5. We disintegrate to the extent that we contend- together-to-achieve-for-ourselves personal and/or communal: invulnerability, superiority, power- concentrations, power-coalitions, wealth-concentrations; salvation, tickets-into-heaven, nirvana, perfection, unity or some-other-good --- at-the-expense-of-people-who-are more-vulnerable-than-we-are. 6. In opposition to our virtues we all too often affirm in formal-and-informal-ways the advantages-to-our- selves of our-vices such as: contentiousness, violence, coercion, pretentiousness, arrogance, intolerance, war- making, Military-Industrial-Complexes, independence, invulnerability, conflict-maintenance, greed, exclusivity, terrorism, extremism, retributive-justice, punishments, reward-economies, award-communities, cliques, caste-systems, and many more disintegrative-vices. 7. We disintegrate both personally and communally when we refuse to, or fail to, be involved in open and honest dialogue with people whom we label and/or regard as: inferior, second-rate, second-class, sub-standard, imperfect, non-conformists, different, evil, devils, enemies, immoral, defective, threatening, unclean, contaminated, soiled, poisoned, defiled, impure, wrong, etc. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
