Not all ways of enforcing "good" rules, laws, mandates and commandments --- merit our respect, honor and/or support. Not all "enforcers" of "good" rules, laws, mandates and commandments --- merit our respect, honor and/or support; be they police, attorneys, lawyers, judges, or administrators. Upon what kinds of grounds --- may we with personal and communal integrity --- withhold our respect, honor and/or support in the above kinds of situations? 1. When narcissistic, egocentric and/or selfish considerations play dominant roles. 2. When dishonesty, arrogance, secretiveness, pretentiousness, meanness, self-righteousness, mental illness, rage, revenge, and closely related disintegrative considerations play dominant roles. 3. When "The Domination System" is playing dominant roles. 4. When there is a persistent disconnect between modern experiences/evidence and the writing and/or enforcement of rules, laws, mandates and commandments. 5. When the motivations for the writing and the enforcement of rules are not clearly related to protecting both personal and communal integrities. 6. When there is a disconnect between gracious efforts to resolve conflicts, and the efforts to enforce contentious rules, laws, mandates and commandments. 7. When the enforcers are preoccupied with dichotomous thinking which focuses compulsively upon: right/wrong, good/evil, white/black, salvation/damnation, heaven/hell, acceptable/punishable, included/excluded, friend/enemy, loyalist/traitor, etc. 8. When the enforcers are mean, legalistic, judgmental, technocratic, insensitive, insecure, defensive, destructive, arrogant, self-righteous, etc. 9. When open, honest, gracious, constructive, and integrative ways of dealing with challenging situations --- are being ignored and/or neglected --- in favor of secretive, deceptive, mean, coercive, violent, destructive and dis-integrative procedures. 10. When overall responses to enforcement procedures --- make difficult situations even more: difficult, alienative, contentious, coercive, violent and dis-integrative of both personal and communal integrities.
