Some people are crazy, mentally ill, deranged. It is not their incoherent behaviors which are addressed in this question. The question here is about the overall pattern of incoherence in the violent ways in which most humans respond to human violence. Why is the most dominant species of creatures --- so prone to do violence to other members of the same species? In what way is that overall pattern of behavior to be understood? How does that pattern of responding to violence with violence to be understood? In the modern era it has become a threat to the survival of all kinds of creatures; not just a threat to the survival of one kind of creatures. Such a threat needs to be understood if we are to survive the threat. How is evil related to the threat of violent responses to violence? How is evil related to incoherence, the lack of integrity, the absence of integrative patterns in our behaviors? What are the roots of incoherence and evil? Where do they grow in the most threatening ways? What are the contexts within which incoherent and evil relationships become the dominant kinds of relationships? Why do people (and communities) and communities disintegrate; i.e., become incoherent --- rather than increase in coherence and integrity? Why do some people become more coherent and well integrated, while others become incoherent and disintegrate? Why do some people ask incoherent and disintegrative kinds of questions; and others ask coherent and integrative kinds of questions? Why do some people respond to good questions in incoherent ways, and others in coherent ways? What is it about the ways in which humans evolved that has lead members of the human species to be the only ones who systematically try to destroy vast collections of other members of their own species --- without there being any practical advantage to doing so? How does that promote the survival of the species? Is such behavior "inbred" or an "aberration"? Might the "disease-model" and the notion of a "plague" be helpful in dealing with the phenomena of the threats of coercion, violence, terrorism and war? In what ways? In framing questions? Envisioning appropriate responses? In promoting cooperative efforts? Is the attitude/belief that we can improve things for just ourselves and others near us (through the use/threat of coercion and/or violence) like a virus/bacteria able to infect the minds and souls of people who are NOT IMMUNE to the attitude/belief --- because such people HAVE NOT internalized a coherent/well-integrated set of beliefs; intellectually, emotionally, and communally.
