Lead each other (and us) to give much attention to those myths, concepts and doctrines which entrap and mislead many people into respecting domineering people. 2. Arrogate unto themselves many duties, powers, and responsibilities --- at the expense of people who are: thirsty, hungry, illiterate, ignorant, confused, fearful, homeless, sick, ill-at-ease, vulnerable, dis-eased, etc. 3. Seduce people into becoming participants in diverse collusive games of mutual self deception --- games which undermine both personal and communal integrities. 4. Neglect to facilitate and promote both personal and communal integrities? 5. Tempt gentle people to become domineering, coercive and violent. 6. Denigrate true lovers who are authentic imitators of Jesus of Nazareth --- both in word and deed. 7. Focus their and our attention primarily upon Laws --- to the exclusion of focusing attention upon God who is Love. To be well and stay well we need to understand HOW the above patterns of behavior "make-sense" to domineering people. The dysfunctional patterns of behavior "make sense" within the framework of domineering people's: experiences, fears, perceptions, and ways of understanding the natures of: security, evil, vulnerability, integrity, love, etc. In responding to domineering people we need to: 1. Be moderate and balanced; insuring that due- consideration is given to all essential/complementary: values, ideals, ideas, insights, perspectives, desires, hopes, visions, fantasies, etc. 2. Minimize extremism, exclusivities, dichotomies, arrogance, self-righteousness, idolatries, etc. --- WITHIN OURSELVES. 3. Keep in mind that we "lose it all" when we fail to work together cooperatively to promote both personal and communal integrities for the sake of all --- rather than for the sake of a few at the expense of most others. 4. Be moderate in opposing terrorism and domination --- we are likely to become extremists who resort to terrorism and domination in our "good" efforts to overcome terrorism and domination. 5. To recognize the natures of traps in the realms of: concepts, doctrines, cosmologies, myths, legalistic- systems, scientific-systems --- else we are likely to become entrapped, miss-led and imprisoned. Often we cannot escape the traps we have created for ourselves and fallen into --- because we have blinded ourselves to the truths which we did not understand, like or respect. (c) 2005 by Paul A. Smith in (On Being Yourself, Whole and Healthy) ==========================================================
