The achievement and maintenance of dominance. 2. Conflicts and contentions related to: dominance, controls, disciplines, rules, regulations, prescriptions, proscriptions, scriptures, taboos, gods, sins, judgments, punishments, condemnations, excommunications, etc. 3. Which people are winners --- at the expense of which other people who serve faithfully as losers, but without thank, appreciation, or integrative benefits. 4. Which rich people are invulnerable and secure by taking advantage of disadvantaged and highly vulnerable poor people. 5. The use of techniques/means/threats of: manipulation, coercion, deception, discipline, punishment, rewards and control. 6. The maintenance of respected forms of addictions, collusions, codependence and domination ---ostensibly to promote law and order --- which are regarded as essential to personal and communal integrity. Domineering people are terrified at the suggestion that people should or might respect, honor and support: peacemakers, negotiators, conflict- resolution, and participants in healthy intimate relationships which promote and facilitate both personal and communal integrity --- through openness, power-sharing, and honest dialogue. Such unthinkable kinds of behavior terrify domineering people who depend upon the domineering kinds of "things" suggested in the six paragraphs above. It is unthinkable that such essential domineering means might be totally eliminated from the communities which domineering people seek to control. (c) 2005 by Paul A. Smith in (On Being Yourself, Whole and Healthy) ==========================================================
