What are the technical means to salvation; i.e., what tools, doctrines, confessions, scriptures, rituals, behavior patterns, avoidances, collusions, addictions, fellowships, etc. can be effectively used by individuals who seek to achieve salvation? 2. What is/are the agent(s) of salvation; i.e., what god(s), savior(s), individual(s), group(s), fellowship(s), spirit(s), principality, power(s) --- can, may, or do initiate what is essential to the salvation of some individual(s) and/or group(s)? 3. To what extent, if any, does an individual or group participate in its own salvation; or in the blocking of its own salvation? In what way? For what reason? By what logic? To whose satisfaction? 4. To what extent, if any, can an individual or group participate in the salvation of another individual or group; or in the blocking of the salvation of another individual or group? 5. Is salvation something which can/cannot be verified as present or absent for a particular individual or group? By whom? By what means? With what level of confidence? To what effect; e.g., with what benefits and costs; to whom? 6. Is salvation some spiritual "state" which resides in a spiritual "realm" which is disconnected from the world of personal experiences, perceptions, and understanding; or is salvation discernible in empirical ways by mortals who are participants in open, honest and healthy relationships? 7. How is salvation related to: personal integrity, communal integrity, honesty, openness, humility, meekness, non-violence, gentleness, cooperation, security, liberation, freedom, vulnerability, sanctuary, patience, peacemaking, conflict-resolution, reconciliation, forgiveness, tolerance, acceptance, interdependence, and other complementary realities? 8. How is damnation related to: disintegration, dishonesty, addiction, secrecy, arrogance, pride, violence, domination, contentiousness, defenses, independence, invulnerability, war, im-patience, militarism, weapons, controls, alienation, resentment, intolerance, rejection, exclusion, condemnations, excommunications and other alienative realities? 9. How is magic related to salvation and damnation? 10. Are there limits which are imposed by transcendent powers upon how many people/groups can enjoy the benefits of salvation? If questions such as these are not framed, asked and discussed openly and honestly --- what is wrong? (c) 2005 by Paul A. Smith in (On Being Yourself, Whole and Healthy) ==========================================================
