Parents were Presbyterian evangelical missionaries working with the natives.

Lived as a child age 2 to 7 in Medellin, Colombia, South America, a growing major modern city.

Lived in Concordia, Kansas; Parkville, Missouri; Carmi, Illinois; Geneseo, Illinois; during early education years.

Earned AB Degree with majors in Philosopy and Physics with honors at Park College, Parkville, Missouri in 1956.

Married Margaret McCluggage in Auke Bay, Alaska in 1958.

Earned AM Degree in Physics at Washington University, Saint Louis Missouri in 1959.

Two daughters were born in 1961 and 1964 in Medford, Massachusetts.

Earned PhD Degree in Physics at Tufts University, Medford, Massachusets in 1964; member of 1st Church, Cambridge.

Served as Professor of Physics at Coe College, Cedar Rapiuds, Iowa 1964 - 1999; active in community affairs.

Member of National Council of American Association of Physics Teachers for a dozen years in 1970s - 1980s.

Visited many physics departments in Russia and China with 30 American Physics Teachers in October 1983.

Activist in Iowa Democratic Party 1968 - 2002 as a major leader in the State's Caucus-Convention-Process.

Moderator of East Iowa Presbytery in 1990's; a federation of about 80 churches with about 20,000 members

Moved to Fort Collins, Colorado in 2003 and active in Plymouth Congregational Church and a new UNA Chapter.
