Objects which we regard as existing apart from us and independently of us. 2. Objective events in which objects interact in ways which exist apart from us and independently of us. 3. Our physiological sensations which bring to us awareness of the above realities. 4. Our consciousness of each of the above kinds of realities, and of each of the kinds of realities suggested below. 5. Other living creatures: viruses, prions, bacteria, amoebas, molds, plants, animals, humans, etc. 6. Objective events in which living creatures and inanimate objects interact among themselves in ways which are quite independent of us. 7. Reflexive events in which we and other creatures are involved in relationships among various living creatures and inanimate objects. 8. Subjective processes in which other people and objects have no significant way of knowing what is taking place within the creature which "owns" the process. 9. Spiritual processes which for reasons unknown seem to transcend human understanding, manipulation and/or control. 10. Communications from God to us and other living creatures. 11. Transcendent actions by God of which we are unaware. If we are uninformed, confused or presumptuous we may attempt to control or to require each other to control some or many of the above kinds of realities in ways which are arrogant, dishonest and/or tragic. We may pretend that some or many of the above realities are not real; or pretend that they are real independently of our imaginations---when they are real only in our imaginations. We may pretend that realities are holy, sacred and of God; when they are not; or vice versa. We may pretend that we are in control when we are not; or vice versa. It is often difficult to distinguish between realities and our experiences of realities. It is often difficult to distinguish between our experiences and our responses and/or reactions to our experiences/responses/reactions. It is often difficult to distinguish between realities, our experiences, our responses, our reactions and our descriptions thereof. We may try to control realities, experiences, responses, and descriptions in ways which are futile and disintegrative; and be unaware of our efforts to be in control as such ---and not be aware of the futility of our preoccupations with issues of control. It is not easy to deal wisely with all that it pointed to here, and it is not helpful to pretend that it is easy and/or simple to so so. It is helpful to seek to facilitate open and honest dialogue regarding all that is pointed to here. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
