Thus they cannot learn from their unique experiences, and so they lead dysfunctional lives. Other people live existential lives which are openly and honestly responsive to the unique aspects of their personal experiences and heritages. Whenever conformity to traditions and/or prescriptions is regarded as more important than open and honest personal responses and/or descriptions of personal experiences---people and communities disintegrate. Conformists do not expect people to openly and honestly respond to and describe their own personal experiences which are unique to themselves; for conformity to "holy" traditions and prescriptions is of ultimate importance to them. Openness and honesty are dispensable and are often sold in order to achieve conformity, or the appearance of conformity. Conformists do not live lives of personal and communal integrity. They live lives which reveal the futility of coercive laws, rules and regulations---in the absence of free gifts of the freedom to be secure within intimate personal relationships which entail healthy vulnerability. Whenever unique personal experiences cannot be safely reported openly and honestly---it is impossible for communities to adjust with integrity to environmental changes which are out of human control. Communities which are imprisoned by their pasts usually disintegrate and have no future. To be people of integrity within integrative communities we need to give and accept free gifts of the freedom to be openly and honestly vulnerable within intimate relationships wherein we can let the truth out about our own unique unconventional personal experiences. If we do not know, are not familiar with and do not develop healthy ways to avoid or escape from the tyranny of paradigms of coercive/dishonest conformity---we are doomed to personal and communal disintegration.
