Evil is pervasively present with power outside of and/or apart from our relationships with each other--- and can invade us, control us, and cause us to be evil people. 2. People as individual people can helpfully be identified as inherently evil people, perhaps by virtue of being possessed and controlled by an evil agent who has invaded them and taken them over---mind, body and soul. 3. People as individual people can helpfully be identified as inherently good people, perhaps by virtue of successfully resisting temptations and/or resisting being taken over by any evil agent; or by virtue of proper: beliefs, decisions, intentions, actions and achievements. Under the above conditions is seems to be reasonable and proper for good people to fear, judge, reject and repress their own most integrative visions, desires, intentions, hopes, aspirations and perceptions--- because they do not conform to their community's convergent thought processes. Under the above conditions it is exceedingly difficult for children and young people of integrity to maintain their own integrity and to own as their own their own most integrative visions, desires, intentions, hopes, aspirations and perceptions. The above conditions of belief are commonly part of the collusive patterns in communities where personal and communal integrity are not regarded as worthy of ultimate concern; and so personal and communal integrity are sacrificed in order to preserve the apparently good reputations of false gods. When people of integrity are not given the gift of security which is the freedom to be safely true to themselves and others, then both they and their community disintegrate. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
