Dear Jack: This letter is about Jill. I made Jill for you. She is not perfect; in fact she did not turn out very well. She is a victim of original sin and needs some straightening out. She is prone to make mistakes and to being willful about doing what she wants to do. I need your help in finishing up the creation job on Jill. Use your own judgement, but there are some suggestions: 1. Be sure to put Jill in her place. When she gets out of place, make sure she knows where she belongs. 2. Keep Jill reminded of her imperfections and encourage her to work on correcting her imperfections. 3. Don't let Jill get away with anything. If you give her a centimeter she is likely to take a kilometer, and regard it as her right! 4. Jill does not know how to control herself properly. You will have to exercise a great deal of control over her before she will be perfected. You will need to persevere. It will not be easy. 5. The good side of this job is that the closer you get Jill to perfection, the more you will be able to enjoy her. Hope for the good times which perseverance will bring you. 6. Sometimes Jill will think that she is just as good as you are. This is her major imperfection. You will have to straighten her out about this one. 7. If Jill tries to tell you that she deserves more respect, remind her of your superiority over her, and tell her that she will have to do a better job of perfecting herself before she deserves your respect. 8. Remember that your primary duty in this job is finding ways to be in control. If you forget you will lose it. 9. You may occasionally get the impression that you are not doing a good job. Do your best to keep those impressions from getting you down. Keep a positive attitude, things will get better if only if keep believing that they will. 10. Good luck in learning how to fix Jill and in achieving a perfect relationship. Best Wishes, God Dear Jack, This letter is about your possible relationship with Jill in your community. Keep in mind that you are all my children. If anybody tries to put another down, show them this letter and remind them that all of you are my children, and that I ask you to always and forever treat each other as my royal children. Here are my guidelines: 1. None of you has the right to excommunicate another member of my royal family. You are all my children and to be respected as my children no matter what mistake is made or what imperfection is discovered. 2. Each of you needs to remember that none of you is perfect, or better than others in a way which makes you merit more favorable consideration than another. 3. None of you has the power to perfect yourself or another member of my royal family so as to merit more favorable consideration than another. 4. None of you knows better than another what the other should do. 5. Your primary interest should be in getting to know each other openly and honestly. 6. Give each other the gift of true security wherein you can be safely vulnerable in open and honest intimate relationships. 7. Perfection, imperfection, control, chaos, law and order are not helpful as primary foci for your ultimate concerns. Focus instead upon true love, self knowledge, and honest knowledge of each other. Be true to yourself and each other. 8. Don't take yourselves too seriously. Learn to cooperate and have fun with each other. Enjoy yourselves and each other as members of my royal family. 9. There will be occasions of sincere conflict. Be patient with each other and resolve your conflicts to each other's satisfaction; not to your own satisfaction. Conflicts are not resolved until they are resolved to each other's satisfaction. 10. Remember, you are all members of my royal family No one is to be judged as unfit to stay.
