In the resulting idolatry we may seek to avoid: 1. Mistakes, by trying to take no risks. 2. Evil relationships, by avoiding getting involved in any personal relationships. 3. Disappointments, by avoiding any hopeful anticipations. 4. Doubts, by fanatical commitments to our absolute truths. 5. Subjective bias, through fanatical objectivity. 6. Sexual mistakes, through sexual ignorance and insensitivity. 7. Pride, through false humility. 8. Damnation, through compulsive concern regarding our own salvation as isolated individuals. 9. Communal rejection, through isolation from others. 10. Pain, through insensitivity. It is dangerous for members of a community to excommunicate any members of their community for making mistakes.
