It is usually we who need to change our selves when we are in unsatisfactory and meaningless circumstances. Our behavior and satisfaction follows our images, visions, dreams and conversation. We cannot change our behavior without first changing our images, visions, dreams and conversation. Meaningful and satisfactory change begin with the changes which can most easily be made: envisioning new images and dreaming of new dreams and conversations with new friends. When we are stuck in an unsatisfying rut we are usually stuck with others who are there. In such unsatisfying circumstances we need to seek out new friends who are not stuck, and who are honestly satisfied in meaningful activities. Too often people who are stuck in unsatisfying circumstances expect others to make changes to bring them satisfaction; but those expectations are virtually always not fulfilled in a long term satisfactory way, for they are dishonest expectations. Changes made by others rarely bring real satisfaction which endures, and pretending otherwise does not bring real satisfaction which endures. Dissatisfaction is meaningless if it does not lead us to make changes in our images, visions, dreams, associations and conversations. Only when we make such changes ourselves in our own lives do we undergo a conversion which enables us to become more satisfied with our selves and with others. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
